Blood group and health; how are they related?


All are interested to know their blood groups and how you are connected with your loved ones also matter to you right? But it is just beyond that, every blood group comes with certain amount of high or low risk of certain disease.

This just got into my head when i was looking for weight loss programs on internet. There was one article which claimed that a person can lose weight by following certain diets and by drinking recommend amount of water according to their blood group.

I don't know how much it is true, but it raised certain amount of curiosity to know more about my blood group. I thought of gathering some knowledge through net, so i went through a lot of articles which helped me to understand my blood group so as of others.

I would like to keep certain things in front of you, as you all know there are A, B, AB and O blood groups. The genes you inherit from your parents determine your blood group. It can be either RhD positive or RhD negative.

  • The universal red cell donor has Type O-ve

  • The universal plasma donor has Type AB blood type.

So how they help us in weight loss?

  • Type A: To be fit and fine should follow vegetarian diet with carbohydrates and fruits like apple, dates, berries, peach etc. Carbohydrates are easily digestible for people with blood type A. Their daily liquid intake should be 2750 ml.

  • Type B: Balanced omnivore Meat (no chicken) dairy grains beans legumes vegetables.

  • Type AB: Mixed diet in moderation meat seafood dairy tofu beans legumes grains vegetables fruits. They should have 2.5 to 3.5 litres liquid intake one day

  • Type O: They should have high protein rich foods such as meat, fish, vegetables and fruits. The foods that help in weight loss are Kelp, seafood, salt, liver, red meat, kale, spinach and broccoli. The liquid intake should be 2700 ml liquid intake a day.

These are the information which i found useful hope you people will like to try it out. Most celebrities follow this blood group diet to stay fit and healthy, but do remember whatever way you to choose dedication and determination are keys to success.
